Childcare Arrival, Departure and Transitional Procedures

Arrival
  • Parents will let the childcare teacher know of his/her presence.
  • Parent must sign their child(ren) into the day care daily.
  • Parents are responsible for their child(ren) until the child(ren) placed into their group(s).
 Departure
  • Parents will let the childcare teacher know of his/her presence.
  • Parent must sign their child(ren) out of the day care daily.
  • Parents are responsible for their child(ren) once dismissed from the group. Children constantly leaving and returning can be very disruptive to group activities.
Time and days of transition will be recorded on each room that a child(ren) is participating in. When it is time to prepare a child for his/her promotion to new class a written agreement will be done with the parent.

Childcare Emergency Closing

Childcare closing due to inclement weather will be listed on WUAB (UPN) along with public school closings. Any day care closing due to extenuating circumstances beyond Wise Choice Learning Childcare Center’s control (before or during service hours) will be posted and/or our child care staff will contact the parents for pick up.
1. If temperatures are below 0 degrees and wind chill is below 20 degrees.
2. If there are travel advisories in effect.

Childcare Nutrition

Parents are to provide packed meals and snacks daily.
Meals constituting at least one-third of the recommended daily allowance are to be packed, labeled and dated to be stored in an approved commercial refrigerator until the children’s meal/snack time. At least one food from two of the four basic foods groups: Childcare Nutrition
